SEMONETWORK
The Catalyst
The Semo Incubator

Onboarding projects and organisations into the new economy.

Semo calls it the Catalyst. Fifteen projects are already inside it.

This page shows what onboarding actually gives you, what we look for before we say yes, and every project currently in the portfolio — with the stage it is at and the money it is still looking for.

What it is

Not an accelerator. A commons you plug into.

Semo Network is not the app you scan products with, not the phone in your pocket, not the storefront where you buy your next regenerative purchase. Each of those lives on its own site, with its own team, its own pace. What lives here is the commons — the constitution, the stewardship model, the shared rails, and the connective tissue that lets a growing constellation of projects move together as one economy.

  • You keep your work

The incubator does not take your company off you. It asks you to hold it in some form of stewardship so extractive capture stays off the table — and it will help you set that up.

  • You get rails, not just advice

Scoring, currency, payments, identity, marketplace, governance. Infrastructure that already exists and that you can build on instead of rebuilding.

  • You inherit an audience

People who have already opted in to align what they spend with what they care about. They are the hardest customers in the world to find, and they are already here.

What onboarding unlocks

Governance, scale, collaboration — and a story that holds.

  • Distribution & visibility

Listing in Semo's marketplaces, surfaced to people who have already opted in to align their spend with their values.

  • Economic benefits

Being featured in Semo's investor network, access to Semo's investment vehicles, and optional integration with Semo Coin and Semo Pay — where better impact is cheaper to buy and more profitable to sell.

  • Steward governance

Adopt the Constitution, use Semo's governance models customised to your needs, hold your own work in trust, and share the language of a movement that is already in motion.

What we look for

A few simple signals.

We don't require you to be perfect — only honest, in motion, and willing to be transparent about both.

  1. 01

Your offering creates measurable, regenerative value for people or ecosystems — not just less harm.

  2. 02

You're willing to share the data behind that claim openly, so it can be verified by the community.

  3. 03

You can hold your work in some form of stewardship to keep extractive capture off the table. Semo can help you realise this.

  4. 04

You operate with curiosity and respect, the way you'd want future partners to operate with you.

Applying signals acceptance of the Semo Constitution. It is worth reading before you send anything — it is short, and it is the actual contract. Read the Manifest →

Who is already inside

Fifteen projects, six disciplines, four stages.

This is the whole portfolio, exactly as it is published on semo.network. Pick a discipline, pick a stage, and see what is actually there — including what each project is still raising.

Discipline
Stage

Milestone figures are reproduced from each project's own page on semo.network as published on 28 July 2026, and move as projects raise. A milestone is the next funding step for that project, not its total raise.

The journey

Where a project sits, and what happens next.

A project does not arrive finished. It arrives somewhere on this line, and the incubator's job is to move it one step along it.

    One thing worth naming

The application form asks you which of five stages you are at — Idea · Prototype · Pilot · Live · Scaling. The portfolio itself only carries four labels: Concept · In incubation · Pilot · Live. Nothing in the portfolio is labelled Scaling today, even where projects describe themselves as scaling. The two scales have not been reconciled yet — so treat the stage you pick on the form as a description, not a slot.

    Proof

The path through is not theoretical.

Three chains that already ran the whole way — from one product that worked, to a product line, to shared infrastructure the rest of the portfolio builds on.

    1. BetterFlagsLiveBetterMerchPilotSemo StoreIn incubation

BetterFlags carved a strategic niche in a price-driven merchandise industry by competing on quality, ethics and transparency instead of price — and won real buyer relationships doing it. BetterMerch scales that model into a full product line. Semo Store turns it into the consumer-facing marketplace. One proven product became a route to market for everything behind it.

    2. HemptexLiveSemo StoreIn incubationSemo VillagesConcept

Hemptex supplies the hemp-based textiles the Store launches with, and its supply chain is the first prototype for a global regenerative supply chain built with marginalised communities — which is why it is being prepared in line with the ambitions of Semo Villages. Material scaling and marketplace growth are designed to happen in parallel.

    3. Semo ScorePilotSemo AppPilotevery storefrontShared rail

The scoring engine was not built for one product. It runs inside the Semo Shopping app, and it is the rail storefronts are being built around so every product can carry its score. An onboarded project does not have to invent a way to prove its claims — it plugs into the one that already exists.

    The intake

Four steps, and a real answer either way.

    1. 01You apply

A short form: who you are, your organisation and site, the discipline and stage you'd place yourself in, how your work realigns value with real impact, and what partnership would actually unlock for you. A paragraph each is enough.

    2. 02Stewards review in cohorts

Applications are not read one at a time as they land. They are reviewed together, so a cohort can be weighed against each other and against what the portfolio needs next.

    3. 03You hear back within two weeks

One of three answers: a call, a pilot proposal, or a no-thank-you with feedback. Nobody is left waiting on silence.

    4. 04You're onboarded into a discipline

Accepted projects join one of the six disciplines, get a page in the portfolio with a public stage and funding milestone, and plug into the rails — scoring, currency, payments, marketplace, governance.

Every application moves through four states, visible to the stewardsNewReviewingAcceptedorDeclined
    Not incubated

And then there are the peers.

Eight independent organisations sit alongside the portfolio as ecosystem partners. They are not incubated, they carry no Semo funding milestone, and Semo holds no stewardship over them. They are peer networks — much like Semo itself — that Semo features and supports to steward shared intentions. Worth knowing which door you are knocking on.

      Apply

If your work realigns value with real impact, this is your home base.

Applications are reviewed in cohorts, and you get an answer within two weeks — a call, a pilot proposal, or a no with feedback.
